Research data at Swedish higher education institutions

Universities and university colleges hold large amounts of digital information produced within the framework of research activities, known as research data, which can sometimes be reused in new research projects.

There is currently no comprehensive compilation of research data produced at individual higher education institutions or at national level. However, several data holders and research infrastructures in Sweden offer various types of support and services for identifying data.

Karolinska Institutet has two research databases: the Swedish Twin Registry and the LifeGene project, which aim to provide a basis for future research projects.

The page Tools and services for identifying data describe tools and systems that can be used to identify research data. It includes information about metadata catalogues, digital systems and data portals that facilitate the search, sharing and reuse of data from different sources.
